A Place to Connect:
CEO’s August Message for the AMSN Blog.
As many of you may know, one of AMSN’s member benefits is our online community where you can ask clinical questions and get evidence-based responses, take some time to get to know other medical-surgical nurses, build a network and learn best-practices from your peers. AMSN’s online community has been around for several years, and most members value the ability to connect with experts and other med-surg nurses.
AMSN realized the online community wasn’t as dynamic as we’d like it to be. It didn’t allow for live interactions with colleagues or offer a robust platform to get the information you needed when you needed it and it didn’t have the greatest mobile functionality. As a result, we spent the last two years searching for a new online community platform for members. Who knew it was going to be so difficult to find?
Well, I’m thrilled to say we have found the perfect online community for AMSN members. It’s a dynamic, interactive platform that will serve you content based on your preferences. It allows you to see who is online and has better messaging capability.
We can host roundtables and live chats right in the platform, without any additional technology, and make those events available afterwards for all to enjoy. AMSN will be able to share important updates with the membership and you will still be able to get evidence-based responses to your questions, but in a timelier manner!
The new AMSN online community will launch this month. We’re putting the finishing touches on the first version of the platform, and more features and functionality will be rolled out each month for the remainder of the year.
We can’t wait to invite you to participate in this much improved community. We even want you to help us name it! Stay tuned for a poll asking you the name you prefer, and if you’d like, you can even enter your own suggestion.
We are so excited to launch this new community and further increase the value of AMSN membership for our members. Keep an eye out for communications from AMSN and be sure to visit the community when it goes live. Build your profile or link it to your LinkedIn profile and start the conversation! I’ll see you there.
